Returning to inject some much-needed laughter into our autumnal TV schedules is the second season of Hullraisers, which is coming back to Channel 4 for another expectantly hilarious outing.

The Hull-based series from Lucy Beaumont first aired back in 2022 to positive reviews and was renewed for another season in August 2022, promising that our protagonists Toni (Leah Brotherhead), Paula (Sinead Matthews) and Rana (Taj Atwal) will be "stepping into bright new chapters of their lives where everything will be different... (whilst they fight to keep everything exactly the same!)".

The first season introduced us to the show's central trio of Hull-based friends, and explored "the hilarious and agonising reality of what it is to be a working-class woman juggling work, kids, demanding friends, family and frustrating parents from the school playground – all whilst trying to have some fun too," Channel 4 stated.

This season is set to bring more of the same comedic chaos, promising everything from more babies, new work colleagues, mother-in-law anguish and menopause, to name a few.

But when can we expect Hullraisers season 2 to land on our screens? Read on for everything you need to know about the Channel 4 comedy.

Hullraisers season 2 release date

The second season of Hullraisers will premiere on Channel 4 on Thursday 9th November at 10pm with the first two episodes.

But if you're more of a keen watcher, the entire second season will be released as a boxset on All4 for you to binge-watch away. For those that have Channel 4+, the series is already available to watch in its entirety.

The main characters from the Hullraisers cast are all returning, meaning that Taj Atwal (playing Rana), Leah Brotherhead (Toni) and Sinead Matthews (Paula) will be back for more mishaps and action in season 2.

Many of the season 1 cast will be reprising their roles for season 2, but the cast will also see some new additions in the form of Tom Bennett (PhoneShop) and Sam Swainsbury (Mum).

Bennett will play John Fox, a new love interest for Craig's mum Gloria (Felicity Montagu) but due to the pair's 15-year age gap, Craig may not take too well to John at first.

Swainsbury will star as Pickles, Rana's new police partner. Although they're polar opposites, could something more be on the cards for this pair?

The full cast for Hullraisers season 2 is as follows.

  • Leah Brotherhead as Toni
  • Sinead Matthews as Paula
  • Taj Atwal as Rana
  • Perry Fitzpatrick as Craig
  • Natalie Davies as Ashley
  • Matilda Firth as Grace
